Chairman Steps Down

Paul Loft, Chairman of the Chamber stepped down from the post last night.
In an email sent to all members on 15th January Paul said:
I" would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their support
since I became Chairman last March, and for the 4 years I was secretary.
In particular I would like to thank Mark Sismore (Deputy Chair), Mike
Bluett (Secretary), Richard Graham (Treasurer) and Catherine Sleep
(Membership and fundraising). They've all done More...
Difficult start to 2010

After a busy December and generally good trading being reported by a number of our members, 2010 has not got off to a good start.
With local car parks closed and the roads and pavements ice bound we have seen a worse than usual drop in trade in January.
Many shops and businesses have either been unable to open at all or have had to operate reduced hours due to staff shortages and to permit staff to leave early to get home before the evening freeze starts once again.

Winter Draw Results

Launceston Chamber of Commerce Winter Prize draw was held today in the Market House Arcade.
A full list of prize winners is available from a number of our member businesses around the town, and copies can be collected from Richard Graham (Treasurer) at The Bookshop.
Many thanks to everyone who purchased a ticket, all the businesses who kindly donated prizes and the volunteers who helped sell the tickets.
