The Tamar Valley Tourism Association (TAVATA) was formed in 2001 to encourage and promote quality tourism in the area. It is a not-for-profit organisation and the membership includes all businesses with an interest in tourism, including local food providers, markets and shops, and business organisations who work with the tourism industry.
We have strong links with the Tamar Valley AONB, regional tourism associations and local government agencies, and so are able to feed back news to members about current initiatives, developments and events throughout the area on a regular basis. We also run regular networking events, from cream teas to wildlife cruises to training events, where members can find out more about the Valley and discover services provided by other members.
Membership costs just £50 for a year from 1st January to 31st December and includes the following:
Inclusion in our comprehensive We Love The Tamar Valley website, which was redeveloped in 2013/14, and which performs very well in the search engines. It can display the following information :
up to 1500 characters of text describing your business
up to ten images
a link to your own website, Facebook page, Twitter account, Pinterest, Google+
full contact details
features and facilities
awards and gradings
The fee also buys inclusion in one of our leaflets, where appropriate (the leaflets are aimed at members of the public so are not suitable for business to business advertising), which are distributed widely throughout the area, at all the Tourist Information Offices, most major attractions, and many accommodation providers.
Joint Launceston TIC Membership
If you are also a member of Launceston Tourist Information Office, we are able to offer a combined, discounted membership of £80 for the two.
Members with an additional, related business operating at the same address (a hotel with a restaurant, for example), can take an extra website entry for the reduced rate of £20.
Members can login with a username and password to amend their own content.
